Josh Byrd was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. From an early age, his father, an accomplished acoustic guitar player, surrounded him with classic southern rock and folk singer-songwriters, while his mother filled the house with church music, and his grandfather listened to nothing but classic country radio. Josh moved to Nashville in 2002 initially to pursue an artist career in Christian Music but through a series of “blessings” as he calls them, found himself writing the country music he grew up on, laced with his daddy’s rock n’ roll and mama’s church music.
Fast-forward 15 years and Josh has become known for his ability to pull the best out of his co-writers, delivering big, powerful songs that stir emotions and strike a common chord of humanity. “I’ve always loved the power of music. Its ability to connect and move masses of people in ways words fail fascinates me and drives me to write songs that resonate with people in a special, lasting way.”
Josh currently splits time between Nashville and Atlanta where he lives with his wife, Allie, their two young daughters, and trusty old Labrador, Jackson.
